CUSTOM BMW R100 CAFE RACERS BUILT TO ORDER

Ryan Reynolds “Casper” Project   In February 2026, Ryan Reynolds reached out to Boxr Moto with an idea that was unlike anything we had built before. While Boxr Moto has become known for transforming vintage BMW R100 airheads into one-of-one custom motorcycles, Ryan wanted to take a different approach. His vision centered around BMW’s modern platform, combining factory reliability with completely custom aesthetics.After purchasing a brand-new 2025 BMW R12 from Max BMW, the motorcycle was shipped directly to our workshop in Erie, Pennsylvania, where the project officially began.   Ryan’s design brief was refreshingly simple “I’ve been a huge fan of your work, and I have an idea for something truly unique. I want a modern, reliable motorcycle in all pink. As much of the bike as can be painted… paint it.” To describe the exact shade he envisioned, he gave us one final instruction: “Take a gallon of white paint and add one drop of red.”   From that description, Boxr Moto developed a completely custom color we named Jamie Palomino. After producing spray-out samples and receiving Ryan’s approval, the transformation could begin. The R12 was stripped to its final fastener. Every component that could be refinished was carefully prepared and assigned the appropriate coating process. Using the original paint formula as the foundation, matching powder coat and Cerakote finishes were developed so the same color could be carried consistently across materials throughout the motorcycle.   The main frame, subframe, swingarm, wheel spokes, handlebars, rearsets, hand controls, and numerous brackets were powder coated in Jamie Palomino. Heat-sensitive components received color-matched Cerakote, while the fuel tank was refinished in a premium basecoat/clearcoat system. Hidden beneath the clear are subtle ghosted BMW roundels, outlined with delicate pink metallic flake that comes alive in direct sunlight. To complete the design, a hand-applied darker pinstripe adds depth and definition to the tank’s flowing body lines without distracting from the monochromatic theme.   Performance received just as much attention as appearance. The motorcycle was upgraded with Boxr Moto’s Stage 1 and Stage 2 performance package, featuring a DNA pod filter airbox delete system for improved breathing and a cleaner visual profile.   A completely one-off rear subframe was designed and fabricated specifically for this project, allowing the factory seat to be replaced with a bespoke solo saddle. The seat was wrapped in premium Alcantara using Ferrari’s iconic Daytona stitching pattern, blending modern motorsport inspiration with handcrafted detail.   The finished motorcycle captures exactly what Ryan envisioned, a modern BMW that is unmistakably unique while remaining fully rideable and reliable. From its custom-engineered components to its one-of-one finish, every detail was executed with the same philosophy that defines every Boxr Moto build creating functional works of art that are meant to be ridden. We’re proud to work alongside some incredibly talented local craftsmen and businesses whose expertise helped bring the Casper project to life. -Lake City Paint expertly mixed and manufactured the custom Jamie Palomino paint formula developed by Boxr Moto. -Russell’s Upholstery handcrafted the custom Alcantara seat using Ferrari-inspired Daytona stitching. -Platinum Powder Coating for fabrication of the custom subframe and completed the production powder coating. -Prather Studios applied the hand-painted accent pinstriping that completed the tank design.
